I think they don't smell because they're very breathable and I usually wear either skinny socks with them or thicker merino wool socks with them when it's colder outside and in general merino wool sucks don't sweat and stink as much next I'll cover what I like about these shoes, first of all, i really like the outer sole on them a lot of the times I'm hiking on rocky terrain so I need the soul to be very sturdy and provide as much friction as possible they do bend a bit but in general, the soles are very stiff and very thick which means that I
can easily step on sharper rocks and not be afraid of spraining my ankle or anything poking through and injuring my feet these soles also provide excellent friction on gravel and rocks which means that I don't need to be afraid of slipping when I'm walking on gravel downhill another thing that I like about these soles is that they extend pretty high up from the ground and that they extend even higher up in the front and in the back this means that if I accidentally slip and for instance hit a rock pretty hard with my toes.

I won't suffer from any injuries the other thing that I like about these shoes is that they're very breathable for some people this actually might be a turn off because this also means that they aren't.
waterproof but i already explained my thoughts on hiking shoes that are waterproof in my last video in a few words i'd much rather get something breathable not waterproof i mean i'm using them in late spring summer and early autumn and if my shoes get wet that doesn't make any difference for me personally i'll just dry in a few hours while i'm hiking in waterproof shoes my feet will usually be much more sweaty and at the end of the day smell much worse so i personally am against waterproof shoes that said they do provide some water resistance you see the soles are pretty high up from the ground you have this waterproof fabric around the toe box and the light green part of the fabric actually doesn't soak up any water really the only parts that get wet are these grey mesh panels this means that if you accidentally step in a puddle or if you're walking through wet grass for instance for a shorter period then your feet won't be soaked just get a bit damp the fourth and last thing that i like about them is that they're very comfortable as i remember i didn't get any blisters or sore feet from them right from day one and that's still the case right now they have plenty of padding all around and in general these are one of the most comfortable
shoes that.

I personally owned but enough about all the things that i like about them now let's talk about all the stuff that i don't the first thing that comes to mind is that you have to tie them up pretty tightly otherwise when walking downhill my toes would slide in the foot end of the shoe and would end up hurting a bit if you tie them down pretty tightly that doesn't happen anymore next is that the shoe laces could be a bit better in general i think they're a bit too long and they have a tendency to untie by themselves but in general i guess the shoe laces aren't that bad because on other shoes my shoelaces won't be usable after i don't know a few hundred kilometers but these ones still look in a very good condition like after five or seven hundred kilometers and the last thing that i dislike about them is that they're pretty heavy i don't know where i heard that but i think i heard something along the lines that every kilogram on your feet is like 10 kilograms on your back or something like that but don't quote me on that though because i might be wrong but yeah in total they weigh 900 grams which is pretty much compared to let's say my trail runners which weigh only 600 grams i mean that's not a significant issue but still it's something that could be improved ,
